2023...What a Year!

In the grand tradition of New Year's resolutions, I confidently declared that 2023 would be a year of personal healing + growth. Little did I know that this "healing" would come with its own set of terms and conditions. Lesson learned: healing + growth may include side effects such as a Breast Cancer diagnosis, unexpected bursts of exhaustion, and the occasional "what the f*cks" (all in good humor, of course). I tell you, 2023...What a Year!

Professionally, 2023 was a game-changer. I left my full time day job in January and getting to work with amazing clients, who share a genuine love for the product photos I create, has been incredibly rewarding. Working with these passionate individuals not only fueled my creativity but also allowed me to refine my skills as a photographer. Each project became an opportunity to learn, evolve, and deliver exceptional results.

The satisfaction of seeing my work appreciated and loved reaffirmed my passion for product photography. From conceptualizing ideas to bringing them to life through the lens, every photo became a story, and every story became an opportunity to connect with people.

However, one of the most significant decisions I made in 2023 was to prioritize my cancer. In a world that often encourages us to push our limits, I really had to take my mindset from pushing limits - to "slow your roll, Kelli"; from listening to my body when it's exhausted to incorporating mindfulness practices into my daily routine. To say it's been an adjustment putting my health first... is kind of an understatement. I'm still learning to to put me first.

So, as I raise my glass to toast the end of 2023, I do so with the newfound wisdom that accompanies a year of growth and giggles. And as I cautiously declare, "2024 will be my year," - rest assured, I'll be armed with a magnifying glass and a sense of humor, ready to tackle whatever fine print comes my way.

Here's to reading the terms and conditions, pursuing passions, prioritizing well-being, and to a year ahead filled with growth, and real healing... hopefully without the unexpected plot twists. Cheers!
